Team Spotlight: In The Chair With MEGI

Megi Gusto Hair

Meet Megi | Balayage & Highlights Specialist

Seven years. Two countries. One obsession with colour.

Megi began her career as an assistant in a luxury salon in Greece — thrown into the deep end early, trusted quickly, and promoted to second stylist before she was even in her mid-twenties. She moved through salons, each one teaching her something new, until she discovered what she loved most: the alchemy of colour. Balayage, highlights, transformations. The moment a client sees themselves differently.

Then came the move to the UK — a bigger stage, unfamiliar trends, a whole new clientele. Megi says: "The difference between the trends and hairstyles had me a bit lost at first," she admits. But she leaned on the one thing that never lets her down: confidence. "My passion and love for this job was stronger than my fear. That's the point where you succeed."

After honing her craft in one of London's busiest salon environments, Megi found her home at Gusto. "Here I've found myself. I feel more free and creative than ever."

Her Craft

Megi's speciality is balayage, highlights, and colour transformations — the work that takes real skill and an eye for the individual. She's drawn to soft, natural-looking blondes and seamless blends that work with a client's features, skin tone, and lifestyle rather than against them.

"Balance and hair health are everything to me. I want colour that looks natural, grows out beautifully, and keeps the hair strong and shiny."

Every appointment starts with a detailed consultation — hair history, lifestyle, expectations — because the best results come from understanding the whole picture, not just the brief.

What She's Loving Right Now

Soft, dimensional colour is having its moment, and Megi is here for it. Natural balayage, face-framing highlights, and glossy, healthy-looking hair are all trending for the same reason: they're elegant, wearable, and low-maintenance. On the cut side, she's loving bouncy blowouts for natural volume and soft layering with deliberate face-framing.

"Clients love these looks because they're beautiful on day one and easy to live with every day after."

Why She Does It

Ask Megi what makes the job worthwhile, and she doesn't hesitate. "Seeing the confidence clients gain when they love their hair, a beautiful colour can completely transform how someone feels." That moment — when a client sits up straighter, looks in the mirror and actually lights up — is what she works toward every single day.
