How did your journey into hairdressing begin?

I’ve always been drawn to creative industries, but hair felt different — it’s personal. You’re not just creating something visual; you’re helping someone feel confident. Once I started, I never really stopped learning. The industry moves fast and that’s what keeps it exciting.

What do you love most about being Creative Director?

Sharing knowledge with the team. Watching someone develop their confidence and skill is just as rewarding as doing a great colour transformation yourself. A salon should always be evolving — if we stand still, we fall behind.

You’re known for colour — what makes a great colour appointment?

Consultation, always. Anyone can apply colour, but understanding the person in the chair is everything. Lifestyle, maintenance level, personality — it all matters. The best colour doesn’t shout, it suits.

What inspires your work?

London. The variety of people, fashion and culture means you never see the same head of hair twice. Inspiration can come from the street, a fabric texture, art, or even how light hits a colour.

What can clients expect when they visit?

They should leave feeling better than when they walked in — not just because of their hair, but because the experience felt relaxed and enjoyable. We want it to feel like time well spent, not an appointment to rush through.

Gusto’s motto is a space without boundaries — what does that mean to you?

It means creativity without fear. Clients should feel comfortable asking for something bold, soft, classic or completely different. Our job is to guide, refine and deliver it in a way that works for them. No judgement, just collaboration.
